The St David’s Society of Bangkok celebrated Wales’s national day last weekend (7 March), with a night of music and entertainment at the British Club, Bangkok.
Guests at the event included the British Ambassador to Thailand, Mark Kent, the former bard of the St David’s Society, Heather Powell as well as members from the St Andrew’s and St Patrick’s societies.
Music at the event was performed by jazz duo Khun Poh and Khun Tan, Welsh harpist Elfair Dyer and the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir.
Returning to Bangkok for the 33rd time, the Welsh Male Voice Choir held a workshop ahead of the St David’s Day celebrations for international students at the Regent’s International School in Bangkok.
The 2016 festivities to mark St David’s Day will coincide with the society celebrating its 40th anniversary ball, where it will welcome the return of the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir as part of its celebrations.
