The Wales World Wide ‘Events Calendar,’ aimed to profile international events and networking opportunities for businesses in Wales, has added over 300 trade fairs to its listing.

Trade fairs provide businesses with the opportunity to open up new markets, gain specific sector information, as well as meet new trading partners in a given market.

The Wales World Wide calendar now features international fairs spanning a range of sectors, from defence and security, ICT, advanced engineering, creative and media to clothing, footwear and fashion.

Some of the major events listed include Propak China 2013, the premier trade exhibition for packaging and processing technologies which attracted more than 17,000 buyers and 657 exhibitors from 22 countries last year, Bio-Europe, Europe’s largest partnering conference which brought together 3,000 visitors from 52 countries, and the New York International Gift Fare, which drew 35,000 attendees from 80 countries worldwide.

The wide range of trade fairs highlights the number of opportunities open to Welsh exporters across the globe during the remainder of 2013.

The Welsh Government hosts a pavilion at major international trade fairs, and businesses are eligible to apply for a 50% subsidiary towards the cost of travel and accommodation. UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) also provides support via the Tradeshow Access Programme, in which businesses can attend a trade show as part of a group led by one of the UKTI’s Accredited Trade Associations.

The trade fairs listed in the calendar are part of the UKTI’s Tradeshow Access Programme, and full contact details are given so interested parties can contact the association leading the visit from the UK.
