St David’s Day celebrations in Los Angeles took place on Sunday 3rd March at Barnsdall Art Park, Hollywood Boulevard.

Visitors from Wales and the US joined the festival packed with a Celtic marketplace and workshops, Welsh language classes, Welsh Corgi demonstrations, Welsh food stalls and the LA Eisteddfod.

The ‘Grand Concert’ held in the afternoon showed the 1962 short film ‘Dylan Thomas’ starring Richard Burton, followed by a performance from the Welsh Choir of Southern California and a book release of Welsh Nursery Rhymes by Peter Anthony Freeman.

Sarah Hope attended the festival from Cardiff to promote her ceramics collection and American-based Welsh bakers were selling Welsh foods, made in Santa Clarita and brought to LA for the event. Welsh history author, Jude Johnson, based in Arizona featured in the festivities promoting her recently released ebook ‘Cymru Am Byth.’
